The German mountain boots (Bergschuhe) were not only issued to Gebirgstruppen. On photos various units can be seen wearing these. From SS Units in Normandy, to Fallschirmjäger at Monte Cassino, Italy.
These boots on offer here are actually original hand made Swiss mountain boots, heavily studded with double thickness sole, with a pattern very similar to the Wehrmacht ones. Manufactured by the "Jordan" Shoe Factory / Saddler in 1950. Swiss Army size is 28, which stands for 280 millimeter length of the feet, US 9.5 - 10,  EUR 43 size. These boots were made in 3 different widths (5 = Standard / 6 = width / 7 = extra width). This pair is made in the width version. The leather is hard and stiff. It just needs a good cleaning. Comes along with its original pair of Swiss army shoe laces. No nail is missing as shown, a cut of the leather at two point on the right boot as shown, otherwise in good condition. All nails has some slight surface rust which can easily be removed with a brush. Please be aware that leather can shrink if not treated correctly. I give no guarantee that these boots will fit you if you wear a shoe size mentioned above. The cotton transport bags have some stains and show some use and wear as shown.
These boots are a very good alternative to using rubber sole boots or the expensive modern reproductions of the Mountain boots. Add putties over the boots, and you get the look.
