Pr. Mid Century FRANCE Celluloid Dolls Mademoiselle of Alsace and Boy

Description

Two mid-century (circa 1940s-50s) Celluloid dolls found in one private collection, both are included.
The female doll stands appx 5" tall but her skirt makes her taller (7" from head to hem) when flared out and she stands. Her costume is embroidered with metal thread and silk thread as well. A cross is attached at her neck and her limbs are jointed--all are present and attached. The hand written tag on her front apron reads
MADEMOISELLE (sp) OF ALSACE-Lorraine in France
The boy has a wool felted costume with colorful embroidery, metal buttons at front, and a velvet hat. He stands 5" tall and his limbs are all intact and jointed. Attached handwritten notation simply reads
FRENCHMAN FROM FRANCE.
