The
Origin Effects Cali76
is a premium quality, 1960s-style FET compressor, inspired by the legendary Urei 1176.
The 1176 is a much-loved premium-quality studio compressor and, in many ways, is the industry standard vintage studio compressor. The primary motivation for developing the Cali76 was to bring the sonic properties of this revered studio-classic into the scope of the average guitar-geek. After all, why should high-quality compression be confined to the recording studio?
Secondly, existing guitar compressors are generally mediocre performers, and renowned "tone-killers," adding hiss whilst simultaneously robbing your signal of its soul!
The topology of the design was kept true to the original, while the actual circuitry was carefully condensed. In this way, it has been possible to retain the much loved dynamic response of the original, while at the same time permitting a smaller, more stage-friendly format!
We've slightly tweaked the attack and release times to be of immediate use to guitarists and bass players, as well as in pro audio applications. Plug it into your recording rig to process vocals, piano, acoustic guitars and drums, with a vintage, analog warmth!
Tonal Benefits - compared to standard (STD) version:
The Cali76 Transformer-Option works to provide the user with additional tone-options and connectivity. This option brings things even closer to the original studio-classic by incorporating a custom iron-core output transformer (other tx options available) driven by a high-current Class A transistor stage. High Gain and Low Gain modes of operation allow the transformer to be pushed into saturation for subtle harmonic generation all the way to all-out grunge!
Connectivity:
The Cali76 Transformer-Option features dedicated Amplifier and Line/DI outputs. The Line/DI is fully balanced and electronically isolated. The outputs are capable of driving the longest of cable runs and will integrate with any professional studio setup, vintage or modern! A ground lift switch quickly fixes any rogue hums caused by annoying ground loop interactions.

Free ground shipping to the lower 48 states Via FedEx. All of our items ship via FedEx. On checkout, it may look like you are selecting a UPS shipping method, but the item will be shipped via the equivalent FedEx method.

Undeliverable/Rejected Package
If your package was rejected by your local Customs Bureau or the shipment could not be delivered and was returned to Vintage King Audio for any reason, we are not responsible for the shipping costs.
Free Extended Warranty
All new items that Vintage King carries are subject to our FREE extended warranty protection. Basically, if the manufacturer offers a 1-year warranty on your product, then you are covered under the same warranty terms for a total of 2 years from the time of initial shipment. Likewise, if the manufacturer offers a 5-year warranty, then you receive a total of 6 years of coverage when purchased through Vintage King. We add 1 year to your standard manufacturer's warranty period, FREE of charge, whatever the manufacturer's warranty period may be.

International Duties and tax for warranty and damage replacement items may apply. Even though you may have paid shipping, taxes or duty on your original order, it is IMPORTANT to understand that your government may impose duties and taxes for warranty items or replacement items damaged during shipment from the United States for the new order. You (the customer), are solely responsible for shipping charges, taxes, and duties, once goods arrive in your country.

We do our best to help you choose the perfect gear, but if you don't love it in the first 30 days after receipt, please contact us through eBay for a return authorization.
