This a Rio Grande 40 foot boxcar with roofwalk completely manufactured by Micro-Trains. Only 150 of each car were produced. The first car is number 9 of the Joint Line Series and NSC special run number 02-93.
In 1918 the USRA combined the tracks between Denver and Pueblo to form the Joint Line.  "Pinon" is the third in a series honoring the trains and stations of the Joint Line.  Pinon, located about 12 miles north of Pueblo may have been named for the native Pinon Pine trees in the area.  These cars were released in 2002 and have reached a high auction value of .52 each
The car is a DRGW Rio Grande 40 foot boxcar manufactured in October of 1939 by the Pressed Steel Car Company.  The car is boxcar red with white printing and was the first to carry the "flying" Rio Grande logo.  The car was shopped at the company's Burnham shops in Denver in December of 1958 designated by the BHM 12-58 lettering.  The car has prototypical end printing.
