Military WWII Era Knee Height Lace Up Boots With Hobnail Soles & Heels (12M)
Scarce WWII dark brown lace-up boots with hobnail soles and heels. The portion of the laces over the instep are held in place by eyelets (8 high) and the upper portion are secured by speed hooks (also 8 high). This pair has seen a fair amount of use. No maker's mark, but there is a number stamped at the inside top of both boots. There is an "11", followed by a longer number that I cannot read - so these could be a men's size 11. Please keep in mind that an 11 in the first half of the 20th century was smaller than an 11 today. They measure 15.5" tall. The sole is just over 12.25" from heel to toe, and 4.5" wide across the ball of the foot. The heel is 3.5" from front to back, 3" wide and 1" high. Moderate wear to the sole and hobnails and overall wear and patina to the uppers. No separation between the sole and uppers, and the stitching is all intact. Lining, and insoles are in good condition.
