    Description

This is a real post card from a notorious prisoner of war camp in Manchuria. The camp was associated with Unit 731 which was operated by a biological group of the Japanese Imperial Army.  Unit 731 was ran by Ishil Shiro who was a microbiologist  and army medical officer. He was responsible for 10,000 deaths due to his horrible medical experiments at the camp. In exchange for immunity he gave full disclosure of crimes at the camp. No one knows exactly what he did after the war, accounts varied from he was working with the United States in Maryland on bioweapons to he stayed in Japan and ran a clinic. He died in 1959 from throat cancer.
I found this card at an estate sale 20 years ago. The estate was of a World War Two veteran. I could not find out for sure but I assume he was in the camp.
