    Description

    Carl Martin Compressor Limiter
Carl Martin pedals are hand-built in Denmark. This Compressor/Limiter is designed to have the same features and audio quality as those of high-quality, professional studio compressors, with knobs for variable threshold, compression ratio, response (combined attack & release times), and overall gain. Uses AC power for its own internal regulated power, so no wall wart hum, and no need to fiddle with external power adapters.  Tested, works fine.
General Guidelines on Using a Compressor/Limiter
    :
The basic idea is that the output remains relatively constant, even if the input volume goes up and down. For guitar, this is experienced as both sustain of the signal, because the gain automatically increases as the input signal starts to die, and as a leveling out of the loudest and softest tones, so that you can both play hard (without it being too loud), and pop out harmonics (without them being too soft) - it all ends up being close to the same output volume level!
    Threshold (Tres) knob:
Controls how much of the signal will be compressed (which also depends on how much signal comes from the instrument). Turned fully left, the signal is not compressed much, if at all; turning more to the right causes more of the sound to be compressed.
    Comp knob:
Controls how much compression is applied to the signal (as allowed by the threshold setting). Turning more to the right causes more compression, hence more sustain and more harmonic content.
    Resp knob:
Controls the attack and release times, from slow (left) to fast (right). If you want more of a natural attack, set this knob more to the left; if you want it to quickly suppress overly loud parts, or to pop out harmonics, set it more to the right.
    Gain knob:
    Controls the overall output level.
    Busy light:
Shows the amount of compression that's being applied (or that would be applied, if it's in bypass mode). The brighter it gets, the more compression is being (or would be) applied.
    Dimensions:
    3 3/4" wide x 4 9/16" long
    QUESTIONS
Thanks for looking!  I have years of positive feedback on eBay, so please feel free to buy with confidence.  The item you see in the pictures is the actual item that you will receive (unless the ad says otherwise).  It lived in my smoke-free environment, and has NO velcro stickiness on the bottom.  If you have ANY questions about the listing, PLEASE ask before you buy!  And, please use the eBay messaging system to make contact.  Again, your question MUST be asked prior to purchase or making an offer, including questions such as shipping, item condition, what's included in the listing, or anything else.  If in doubt, please ask!
    SHIPPING
Buyer is responsible for shipping unless otherwise noted.  I ship only within the United States.  Items are typically packed and shipped within 24-48 hours of payment.  Larger items will likely take longer handling times (particularly any items requiring freight shipping).  Also, please note that during the recent period, shipping may be slower than usual.  If you have a special request in regards to packaging or shipping an item, please contact me prior to the end of the auction.  Special shipping requests made after a listing has ended are not guaranteed to be honored.  Note that items valued over 0 will always require a signature for delivery.
    PAYMENT and RETURNS
You are expected to make your payment within 72 hours after the end of the auction.  Non-paying bidder/buyer cases will be opened after 6 days without payment.  Returns are only accepted within 14 days of shipment, and only if the item is not as described.  Please contact me before sending an item back for return shipping information.  Returns received without prior contact will not be accepted.
