Awesome Cloisonne Peacock Birds 5 Sided Bowl
measuring 8 1/4" Wide x 4" Tall
weighs 2 pounds 6 oz
5 is a special number in Chinese culture as it symbolizes the 5 elements;
water, fire, metal, wood and earth.
Love the colors and shape and of course the larger size.
A lot of very fine work was done to make this bowl The cloisons are completely filled without running over to the next compartment.
The scene is absolutely beautiful
The colors perfectly set the scene
The mass-produced current cloisonne items have a totally different feel than these older pieces.
How much older?  I do not have the skill to say, but this is not a "newer" piece.
