    Description

    Folk Art advertising, gotta love it. This is a wonderful hand painted on canvas sign for a seamstress or dress maker. I just don't know how some things survive, this is one of them. It appears to be on it's original stretcher frame from the back. However it has been mounted on a poster board and reattached to the frame and then a wooden frame added on the face. The canvas is thin but actually in ok shape and probably has another 100 years left in it.
    I found this in a little shop outside Pittsburgh. PA. I would estimate it to be somewhere between the late 19th century to early 1900's. You can see this and other fun stuff in person at the Columbia Rivertowne Antique Center Columbia, PA.
    The overall size is 43" high x 37" wide x 1 3/4" deep.
