    Description
    This is a nice, silver,
    "25 Cents"
    from the
    "Kingdom of the Netherlands."
    It was struck in 1849 at the end of the short reign of King Willem II. His father, the first King of the Netherlands, abdicated to him in 1840 but Willem died suddenly on March 17, of this year 1849.
    This type 25¢ was only struck in two years, 1848 when over 10 million were struck, and 1849.
    Weight: 3.54 Gram, 19 Millimeter, .640 Silver. Mintage: 6,149,433.

    The Coin:
    An attractive piece, it saw some hands and earned some moderate, even wear. Then at some time long ago a well-meaning but uninformed person cleaned it. As grading is subjective please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
